The 4-cubicle version measures 27-1/2" x 27-1/2" x 13-3/4" deep exterior, each cubicle having interior dimensions of 12-7/8" tall, 12-7/8" wide, and 13" deep, perfect for LP’s. I do believe I have found my new LP racks! The EKET comes in several different sizes, from a single 13-3/4" cube to a 4-cubicle box. There was a brand new one named EKET pictured, and it looked like it might fit the bill, so today I went to Ikea to have a look. Last night I went onto the Ikea website, again looking at their storage units. There are some fine LP racks out there, but I consider the prices ridiculous. Ikea has other similar racks-the Bitrade, Valje, and Nornas, but they too fell short of my requirements. The lack of a rear panel is also at least partially responsible for another problem with the rack: it is not very structurally stiff and strong, being a little wobbly, able to move side-to-side. But I want my LP’s to be inside an enclosed structure, not an open one, if for no other reason than to keep dust away from the LP cover opening.
I’m guessing owners don’t mind, as the rack will usually be placed up against a wall, that wall then acting as a rear panel. Even worse, the rack is open on the backside, having no rear panel! It is meant to be a room divider, not an LP rack or bookcase. At 15-3/4" deep, LP’s are too far from the front edge of the rack. Other than that, it didn’t fulfill my desires. I found the Kallax to have one enticing quality: very large capacity for very little money. Leaked Intel documents from earlier this year claim that Alder Lake will abandon the LGA 1200 socket launched with Comet Lake (also set for use in Rocket Lake) in favor of the LGA 1700 socket. It's also said to support PCIe 5.0, so we can expect to see some blistering fast drives in the future, and it may be Intel's first consumer processors to support DDR5, which has just seen its first modules launched by SK Hynix. We've heard that Alder Lake-S, which is expected to be built on the 10nm SuperFin process, uses the PCIe 4.0 interface, and the Sabrent Rocket 4.0 NVMe it's paired with here suggests this will be the case. The iGPU has 256 shader cores at 1.15 GHz and will almost certainly be Intel's Xe LP graphics engine, which we saw running Battlefield V at 30fps on a laptop without a dedicated graphics card earlier this year.
It's expected that this Alder Lake-S chip is made up of eight Golden Cove cores (big) and eight Gracemont cores (little), similar to Arm's big.LITTLE design, combining eight high-powered cores with eight energy-efficient ones.Įlsewhere, the chip is listed with a clock speed of 1.4 GHz, likely for the Gracemont cores.

LP RAMME IKEA SOFTWARE
It lists a chip that features 16 cores and 32 threads, though the software sometimes detects it as 16 cores and 24 threads in certain benchmarks. Prolific hardware leaker found the Alder Lake-S results on the SiSoft Sandra benchmarking database. In a nutshell: Intel's 12th-gen Alder Lake chips are some way off-we still have Rocket Lake's arrival in a few months-but benchmarks for one of the desktop hybrid CPUs have just been discovered.
